Early Life
Mantu Chhuria was born on 7th August 1997, in Salat village near Rengali in Sambalpur district. His original name was Jasketan Chhuria, but later, he changed his name to Mantu Churia as his stage name.
He did his schooling in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sambalpur. Then he pursued his college at Gangadhar Meher (GM) College. Later he completed a diploma in sound engineering at Biju Pattanaik Film & TV. Institute of Orissa (BPFTIO).
Life and Singing Career
When he was studying in Kendriya Vidyalaya, he learned music from Gyana Ranjan Mohapatra. During Mantu’s childhood, his grandfather usually sang in village Kirtans, and that was the reason he was attracted towards Kirtan inspired by his grandfather. Later, he used to sing in Kirtan held in the village.
One day, Khirod Nayak and Bapi Singh saw him in Kirtan and were impressed by his singing. Later they gave Mantu an opportunity to sing in their recording studio, and there the beautiful song Sambalpuri Bihu was created.
That first song helped him a lot in bringing his talent in front of the people. Later, he comes up with back to back hit songs and enthrals the Sambalpuri music industry. Mantu Chhuria Sambalpuri songs Bihu, Selfie Bebo, Desi Pila, Sambalpuria Babu, Rasia became hits and set new records of success.
Mantu also knows how to play several musical instruments like dhol, guitar, Nissan, tabla, harmonium, etc. Apart from being a singer, he is also a music director and a good dancer. As a music director, he has given many hit songs with his friend Rehan Kamal.
His Stardom
Despite Mantu being a regional language singer, he managed very well to attract his audience not only from the state but also from every corner of the country. His songs get Millions of views within hours of releasing on Youtube. It makes him different from other singers in the past from the region.
He has also sung many hit songs in the Odia language. He has given many hit songs like Lal Gulabi, To Galara Kala Jaai, Rajithare Heija, etc., in the Odia language. After Umakant Barik, he is the only singer from the Sambalpuri Music industry who has sung for the Odia film. The name of the song is “Pyaar Kuncham Kuncham” from the film Golmal Love.
Singing Pair With Ashima Panda
Mantu’s pairing with Ashima Panda in singing is getting great positive responses from the audience. The duo singing stars have given many hits like Desi Pila, Jigar Bala, Gunehgar. The Rasia song sung by both became the fastest song from Odisha to cross 50 million views on Youtube. That’s the reason their fans liked the duo combination and expecting more performances from them in future.

Mantu lives with his family in Salat village near Rengali in the Sambalpur district. His father’s name is Judhistir Chhuria, and his mother’s name is Sobhagini Chhuria. His grandfather’s name is Ram Prasad Chhuria. He has two brothers named Rajinikanth Churia and Pintu Churia.
