Blue Flag Golden Beach Of Puri
Golden Beach of Puri is India’s one of the cleanest beaches among the eight Blue Flag Certified beaches. It is located in Odisha’s holy city Puri also known as Jagannath Dham, which is 60 km away from the capital city Bhubaneswar. Every year lakhs of tourists come here to worship Lord Jagannath and enjoy the beautiful local places in and around the city. Blue Flag Certified Golden Beach Of Puri
Beaches in Puri are so beautiful to the eyes because of their goldy sands, that’s why it is very popular in the country as Golden Beach. The Blue Flag beach is a part of the Puri Swargadwar Beach, which covers the area from Mayfair Heritage to Digabareni square. Here, you will find Niladri and The Swargadwara beach on both sides of the beach, separated by net boundaries. From Swargadwara, It will take approximately two km to reach the Blue Flag beach by road.
On 12th October in 2020, the beach was awarded Blue Flag certification by FEE Denmark by conforming to the stringent environmental norm and ensuring world-class sustainable tourist amenities.

You have to take an entry pass for your vehicle at the entrance gate. Different rates for different vehicles like, for two-wheeler 10 rupees and for three and four-wheeler they charge 40 and 60 rupees respectively.
In Ticket Counter, different Categories of passes are available by differentiating with time duration and the amount.
- DOLPHIN – 20 /- Rupees ( Valid for 3 hours per person )
- OYSTER – 300 /- Monthly Pass Per Person ( Entry once and valid for 3 hours )
- SPLASH – 50 /- Day Pass For Puri District People ( With ID Proof )
- SHELL – 100 /- Day Pass For Tourist
- Free Entry Below 10 Years
Rules And Regulations In The Beach
- The ticket is valid for one person.
- The validation of the ticket is for 3 hours per person.
- Environmental Degradations are prohibited.
- Camping and Dumping are restricted.
- Water sports are prohibited (During COVID Norms)
- Common activities like fishing are prohibited.
- Hampering the property is a punishable offense.
Hotels Near Puri Golden Beach
In Puri, you will get hotels in different budgets. Hotel in Puri near sea beach most of visitor’s first choice to stay in. Especially at Marine Drive Road, there are a lot of hotels to stay in facing towards the sea. Due to the prime location, the price of these hotels is quite high compared to other locations. The price range here is between 1500 to 4000 rupees. Here, you can enjoy the view of the sea while sitting on the bed or from the balcony.
If you are looking for some budget hotels, then so many of them are present on Swargadwar Road with affordable prices from 400/- to 800/- range. You will easily get autos or cabs from outside the hotel for traveling around.
How To Reach
If you want to travel by flight, then Biju Patnaik International Airport at Bhubaneswar is the nearest airport to reach Puri. The distance from the airport to Puri is 60 kms. You can hire a car from the airport to reach the city. The cost of the car is nearly 2500 rupees.
Also, you can travel to this Holy City by train; here, train services are available from different cities directly. Just outside Puri Railway station, you will get many autos to reach the beach or your hotel. The cost of that auto is approx 250 – 350 rupees. You will reach the beach via Harihar Square and Raj Bhavan way.
